| I'm new, SURPRISE! XD Just wanted to say hello to everyone here. I'm also interested in helping out with Amaranth Scanlations...if possible. I'm a complete newbie, but I learn very fast, and I speak impeccable English. I pretty much irritate people I know (and some I don't) by correcting their word usage, pronunciation and grammar. So...yeah! I am at your disposal, Amaranth Scans, if you want me!
PS: Also, this is just an add-on, but I want to learn how to be a member of a scanlation group for the experience, so I'm not picky about which series I would be given to work on. So essentially any of the ones that others don't want, I would be happy to take. :)

| Hi Emp! Can I call you that? I'm Amarante and you can call me ama-chan if you want. Don't worry, you're definitely NOT talking to an empty board. lol Well, welcome to Amaranth Scans! We would be happy to teach you as long as you are willing to learn. But first of all, what position do you want? There's: - Translator: translate foreign languages to english - Proofreader: checks for grammer, spelling and sentence flow mistakes CLOSED- Cleaner: cleans the raws - Typesetter: typeset the proofread translation onto the clean scans - Quality Checker: double checks the chapter before releasing it. Its best to be a quality checker when you have a little skills in cleaning and typesetting since quality checkers require these skills | |

| Hiya Emp! Nice to meet you and welcome to Ama. :3
You might wanna learn some cleaning 'cause PR's will most likely be closed for a while. Well, I'm guessing here but I can infer from your post that you want to apply for the proofreader spot. xD Ama has really great teachers in case you ever want to learn. Love to see you around more and have fun in the forum!

| First off, hi! And thanks for the warm welcome!
Well, I'm not really looking at doing anything specifically, I was just stating my current strengths. I'm more than willing to learn though! Except I can't translate any languages but French...and that's probably not helpful for manga, lol. So...sure! If you need cleaners, I'd be happy to learn!
One major thing...Photoshop is expensive and I am a poor girl savin up for school...ergo, I have no photoshop. I know that having photoshop is necessary for a lot of the positions, but is there anything that doesn't require it that I could train to do? Or would GIMP work? Or should I just twiddle my thumbs? Lol, I know I'm being difficult here...sorry! D:

| GIMP is free too and takes up less space-ah... I always end up defending GIMP because I've used it for a few years...really like it. The Photoshop generously offered by Amaranthscans is great too. No, I meant Welcome to the forum! And it's great if you learn to clean because it's ... the second step of fixing up great manga scans for the public to enjoy! (It takes a bit of perseverance though but you seem to be a spirited young girl!) | |

| Oh, so you do use GIMP. Sorry, always rushing and only half reading things. | |
